HEDDA MALDE

About Hedda

Hedda’s journey has gracefully evolved from a strict yogic practice to a deeply feminine-oriented way of being and teaching. By feminine-oriented, she means tuning into the cycles, seasons, and the daily rhythms of a woman’s body, mind, and emotions. No two days are the same for women — we are in constant change, and our needs shift accordingly. Hedda encourages women to listen deeply to their own needs and respond from that place of inner wisdom, rather than pushing themselves to fit what they feel they “should” be doing.

Hedda discovered yoga in her early twenties while living and studying Finance in Sydney, Australia. She immediately fell in love with the practice — a calm, restorative space amidst the busy demands of life.

Over time, she explored various teachers and traditions of yoga and Buddhism while working in the finance world. When the financial crisis hit in 2009, she made the life-changing decision to leave the business world and travel to India to deepen her yoga studies.

For the following three years, Hedda traveled between India, Australia, and Norway, dedicating herself to yoga practice and study. She lived in Buddhist centers such as the Chenrezig Institute, and Yoga Ashrams including Mangrove Yoga Ashram and Yoga Vidya Gurukul.

While living at Mangrove Yoga Ashram in Australia, she met the father of her two children. She moved to Norway during pregnancy and spent the next ten years there. When her son was one year old, she founded Grimstad Yoga, a successful studio in her hometown. She taught classical yoga initially and gradually expanded to Yin Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga, Mum & Baby Yoga, Yoga for Women, and Chakradance.

Over the years, Hedda felt called to integrate a more womb-friendly approach into her teaching and practice. Through further trainings, she began weaving these principles into her classes and retreats — offering women the opportunity to dive deeper into themselves, supported by sisterhood and gentle guidance.

Hedda has also attended several profound meditation retreats, including Goenkaji Vipassana and retreats with Christopher Titmuss. She feels deeply grateful for all her teachers and is inspired by luminaries such as Angela Farmer, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Maya Luna, and Paul Wooden.

Recently, Hedda has been immersing herself in Intuitive Rebirth, a somatic healing method that integrates psychic somatics and embodied presence. She is currently finishing Level 1 training in Intuitive Rebirth and is excited to offer this powerful work to women ready to explore deeper healing — especially through the sometimes challenging places — to move towards more authenticity, freedom, and embodied self-trust.
